Platynectes er en slekt av biller og tilhører familiegruppen vannkalver.

Nokså små (gjerne 5-7 millimeter), ovale, blankt svarte vannkalver, ofte med gule flekker.

Denne slekten finnes gjerne i små dammer og pytter.

Slekten er vidt utbredt i varme områder av Asia, Australia og Sør-Amerika.
