A Paratriaenops az emlősök (Mammalia) osztályának a denevérek (Chiroptera) rendjébe, ezen belül a kis denevérek (Microchiroptera) alrendjébe és a Hipposideridae családjába tartozó nem.

A Paratriaenops-fajokat korábban a Triaenops nembe sorolták. A három faj Madagaszkár és a Seychelle-szigeteken találhatók meg.^[1]
