Taxonomía
Calyptrotheca fue descrito por Ernest Friedrich Gilg y publicado en Botanische Jahrbücher für Systematik, Pflanzengeschichte und Pflanzengeographie 24: 307. 1897.[2] La especie tipo es: Calyptrotheca somalensis Gilg.
