Mubarakpur is a town in the Jacobabad District in Sindh Province of Pakistan.Near Mian Sahib and Thul in Sindh Province Of Pakistan .It is located at 28° 10' 8.4972 N68° 38' 18.2148E with an altitude of 47 metres its original name (with diacritics) is Mubarak pur .[2]

There are many ponds in the fishing village. 75% of the population lives on agriculture and self-employment and 25% or less are in government jobs.

History

In the year 1910, Mohammad Aamil Khan Mahar was the chief of the Mahar tribe and land lord during which the Begari Canal seemed to be overflowing. If the Bagari Canal overflows, in case of flood, Wadero Mohammad Aamil Khan said to Peer of Maharpur Mian Mubarak Ali Sahab that our crops and property of the village will all be submerged. Mian Mubarak Ali Mahar , who was the Peer and mentor of Mian Sahib, Main sahab Prayed for the safety of village from overflowing of baggari Canal and the village was saved. In his honour, the Shahul Mahar village was called Mian Mubarak Ali Mahar, and with the passage of time, the name became Mubarakpur.
