Khurram Waqar (born 23 July 1975, Urdu: خرّم وقار) is a Pakistani guitarist and music producer. He is a member of the band kW & the Facedown Movement, and, in the past, has been a part of other bands such as Mera Wana and Qayaas.

Brothers in Arms (2021-present)

Brothers in Arms[1][2] is a rock band based in India, Pakistan, and the USA, and consists of the following artists:[citation needed]

Their debut single, "Khuda Kay Bunde"[3] "خدا کے بندے" released on 14 July 2022, discusses their beliefs on the impact of war on humanity and the importance of unity.[citation needed]

Guitar Collective (2021-present)

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Waqar launched the Guitar Collective,[4] a platform for guitarists from Pakistan and Dubai to collaborate and support independent musicians.[5]

Recognition

Mera Wana, kW & The Facedown Movement, and Qayaas have all been recognized for their work:

  • 2010: Mera Wana was selected as part of the Metal Asia Compilation[6]
  • 2010: Qayaas won the Best Rock Band (Pakistan) award from Rolling Stone Magazine India in collaboration with Jack Daniels.[7][8]
  • 2011: Qayaas won in the following categories at the IndieGo awards:[9] Best Rock Song,[10] Best Rock Video,[11] and Best Rock Vocalist
  • 2018: kW & The Facedown Movement's 'Todi the Smoker' won Rock Song of the Year at the VIMA Music awards[12]

Personal life

Born into a Punjabi Jutt family, Waqar spent his childhood in Lahore, Pindi, and Islamabad. His father was a retired bureaucrat.[13]
