Gorczyce [ɡɔrˈt͡ʂɨt͡sɛ] (German: Gortzitzen,[1] from 1909 until 1945 Gartenberg) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kowale Oleckie, within Olecko County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[2]

It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) east of Kowale Oleckie, 13 km (8 mi) north of Olecko, and 137 km (85 mi) east of the regional capital Olsztyn.

History

It has been mentioned in the Geographical Dictionary of the Kingdom of Poland in the late 19th century.[1]
