Elhayi (Persian: الهایی)[a] is a city in the Central District of Ahvaz County, Khuzestan province, Iran, serving as the administrative center for Elhayi Rural District.[4]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 National Census, Elhayi's population was 3,741 in 546 households, when it was a village in Elhayi Rural District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 5,103 people in 1,091 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population as 7,651 people in 1,905 households,[2] by which time the village had been elevated to the status of a city.
