Owned and operated by Arsenal Media (formerly Attraction Radio), it broadcasts on 105.3 MHz with an effective radiated power of 4,500 watts (class A) using a directional antenna.

The station has an country music format branded as Hit Country 105.3.

History

On October 28, 2019, the CRTC approved an application by 10679313 Canada Inc. to operate a French-language commercial FM radio station in Sainte-Marie, Quebec. The station will operate at 105.3 MHz (channel 287A) with an average effective radiated power (ERP) of 1,159 watts (maximum ERP of 4,500 watts with an effective height of antenna above average terrain of 89.3 meters).[1] The call sign for the new 105.3 will be CKAQ-FM.[2] The call sign was later changed to its current CHCT-FM [3]and is a sister station to CHEQ-FM.

The station signed on the air on October 9, 2020 as Hit Country 105.3. [4] [5]
